Refund and Returns Policy

Last updated: 20 August 2026

This Refund and Returns Policy applies to products purchased and equipment rented through TECHNAUTIQ. It should be read together with our Terms and Conditions of Sale and, where applicable, our Rental Terms & Conditions.

1. General

TECHNAUTIQ supplies nautical equipment, communication equipment, satellite connectivity solutions and rental equipment, including products such as Starlink Mini, satellite phones and Garmin inReach devices.

This policy explains the conditions applicable to returns, refunds, cancellations and rental equipment.

Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory rights granted to consumers under applicable French or European Union law.

2. Consumer Right of Withdrawal

If you are a consumer located in the European Union and purchase a product remotely, you generally have the right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days from the date you receive the goods, without having to provide a reason, subject to applicable legal exceptions.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must notify TECHNAUTIQ clearly before the withdrawal period expires.

After notifying us, you must return the relevant product within the applicable legal period.

Products must be returned with all accessories, manuals and components supplied with them.

You may be responsible for any reduction in the value of the product resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and proper functioning.

3. Return Shipping Costs

Unless the product is defective, damaged on arrival, incorrect, or applicable law provides otherwise, return shipping costs following a change of mind or exercise of the right of withdrawal are the customer’s responsibility.

We strongly recommend using a tracked shipping service.

For high-value equipment, insured shipping is recommended.

The customer remains responsible for adequately packaging the returned equipment.

4. Refunds

Once the returned product has been received, TECHNAUTIQ will inspect it.

When a refund is due, it will be processed using the original payment method, unless another method has been expressly agreed.

Refund processing times may depend on your bank or payment provider.

TECHNAUTIQ may withhold reimbursement until the goods have been returned or the customer provides evidence that the goods have been dispatched, where permitted by applicable law.

5. Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Products

Please inspect your order as soon as possible after delivery.

If your product arrives damaged, defective or does not correspond to your order, contact TECHNAUTIQ promptly and provide:

  • Your order number
  • A description of the problem
  • Photographs of the product and packaging where relevant
  • Any other information reasonably necessary to assess the issue

If the claim is accepted, TECHNAUTIQ will provide the appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable consumer law, which may include repair, replacement or refund.

Statutory legal guarantees applicable under French and European consumer law remain unaffected.

RENTAL EQUIPMENT

6. Rental Returns

Rental equipment remains the property of TECHNAUTIQ at all times.

At the end of the rental period, all equipment must be returned by the agreed return date and according to the instructions supplied with the rental.

This includes all accessories supplied with the equipment, such as:

  • Power supplies
  • Charging cables
  • Data cables
  • Adapters
  • Protective cases
  • Mounting accessories
  • Antennas where applicable
  • Manuals or supplied documentation
  • Other accessories listed in the rental kit

7. Prepaid Return Labels

Where your rental package includes a prepaid return shipping label, the label is intended exclusively for returning the rented TECHNAUTIQ equipment.

The customer must follow the return instructions and hand the parcel to the designated carrier within the required timeframe.

A prepaid return label does not remove the customer’s responsibility to package the equipment securely.

The customer should retain proof of shipment until TECHNAUTIQ confirms receipt.

8. Late Returns

Rental equipment must be handed over to the designated carrier no later than the agreed return deadline.

If equipment is returned late, additional rental charges may apply for each additional day until the equipment is handed over to the carrier.

Additional costs incurred by TECHNAUTIQ as a direct consequence of an unjustified late return may also be charged where legally permitted and provided for in the rental agreement.

9. Lost, Stolen or Damaged Rental Equipment

The customer must take reasonable care of rented equipment throughout the rental period.

Normal wear resulting from proper use is not chargeable.

The customer may, however, be liable for damage caused by misuse, negligence, improper installation, unauthorised modification or failure to follow supplied instructions, subject to applicable law and the Rental Terms & Conditions.

If equipment is lost or stolen, the customer must notify TECHNAUTIQ as soon as possible.

Depending on the circumstances and rental agreement, replacement costs may be charged.

For theft, TECHNAUTIQ may request a copy of the relevant police report or other supporting documentation.

10. Missing Accessories

All equipment and accessories included in the rental kit must be returned.

Missing accessories may be charged at their reasonable replacement cost.

We recommend checking the supplied equipment inventory before sealing the return package.

11. Starlink Mini & Connectivity Services

Rental of equipment such as Starlink Mini may include access to a connectivity service during the agreed rental period.

Availability, speed and quality of satellite connectivity depend on factors outside TECHNAUTIQ’s direct control, including satellite coverage, network capacity, geographic location, obstructions, weather, applicable Starlink service plans and the service provider’s terms.

A temporary reduction in speed or service availability does not automatically entitle the customer to a refund.

However, if a material service problem results from equipment supplied by TECHNAUTIQ being defective or incorrectly configured, please contact us promptly so that we can attempt to resolve the issue.

12. Cancellation of Rental Before Dispatch

Free Cancellation

  • Free cancellation up to 4 days before the rental start date.
  • 50% of the rental amount will be charged for cancellations made less than 48 hours before the rental starts.
  • 75% of the rental amount will be charged for cancellations made less than 24 hours before the rental starts.
  • No refund in the event of a no-show or cancellation after the rental start time.

If you cancel a rental before the equipment has been dispatched, any refund will be determined according to the cancellation conditions presented when the rental was booked and applicable consumer law.

Any non-refundable amount or cancellation charge will only apply where legally permitted and clearly disclosed.

13. Withdrawal and Rental Services

For consumers, rental and associated service contracts concluded online may be subject to statutory withdrawal rights.

If you expressly request that a service begins during the statutory withdrawal period, specific rules may apply.

If the service has already begun at your express request and you subsequently exercise a valid withdrawal right, you may be required to pay an amount proportionate to the service already provided, where permitted by law.

Where a statutory exception to the right of withdrawal applies, this will be communicated in accordance with applicable law.

14. Rental Deposit / Security Authorisation

Certain high-value equipment may require a security deposit or payment-card authorisation.

The applicable amount will be communicated before the rental is confirmed.

The deposit or authorisation may be used, subject to the rental agreement and applicable law, to cover amounts properly due for circumstances such as:

  • Equipment not returned
  • Missing accessories
  • Damage beyond normal wear
  • Unauthorised late return
  • Other charges expressly provided for in the rental agreement

Any remaining deposit will be released or refunded after the equipment has been received and inspected, subject to the processing times of banks and payment providers.

15. Items That Cannot Normally Be Returned

Subject to mandatory consumer rights, returns may be restricted for certain products where a legal exception applies, including, where relevant:

  • Custom-made or personalised products
  • Products manufactured to customer specifications
  • Sealed products that cannot be returned for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed, where legally applicable
  • Digital content or services where the statutory requirements for loss of the withdrawal right have been satisfied

This may be particularly relevant to custom-made ropes, mooring lines, Dyneema products or other equipment manufactured to the customer’s specifications.

16. Return Condition

Purchased products should be returned appropriately protected and, where reasonably possible, with their original packaging and accessories.

Rental equipment should preferably be returned using the protective packaging supplied by TECHNAUTIQ.

Please do not place shipping labels directly onto equipment, protective cases or original retail packaging unless instructed to do so.

17. Return Authorisation

Before returning purchased or rented equipment, please contact TECHNAUTIQ or follow the return procedure supplied with your order.

For rental equipment with a prepaid return label, follow the instructions supplied with the rental kit.

Unauthorised returns may cause delays in identifying and processing your return.

18. Contact TECHNAUTIQ

For cancellations, returns, refunds or problems with rented equipment, please contact:

TECHNAUTIQ
Website: https://technautiq.com

Please include your order or rental number in all correspondence.

19. Applicable Law

This policy is governed by applicable French law, without depriving consumers residing in another European Union country of mandatory consumer protections applicable to them.

Where mandatory consumer protection legislation applies, those statutory rights take precedence over any conflicting provision of this policy.
